Ōhau crash: Detour via Muhunoa East Rd or Bishops Rd/ Arapaepae Rd South.

SH1 OHAU - GAS TANKER TRUCK ROLL - ROAD CLOSED
UPDATE 8.20am - the road is going to be closed for quite a few hours as FENZ and Hazmat units come from Palmy and Wellington to deal with the delicate situation of a petrol tank full and upside down. The detour is heavily clogged both directions especially northbound. Expect big delays here of 20 mins+. Info also at www.TheTrafficFox.co.nzReports of a gas tanker that has rolled on SH1 at Ohau near Vista Rd. The road is now closed til further notice, will be a fair few hours. Trailer is full of gas and upside down, big cordons being put in place. Northbound is backed up to Ohau Domain, southbound back to McLeavey Rd and building. AVOID HERE. State Highway 1 near Ōhau, south of Levin, will now be closed until tomorrow morning.
The road has been shut since 8am on Wednesday after the trailer of a fuel tanker rolled.
Diversions are in place at Vista Road, Muhunoa East and Bishops Road.
The road is likely to remain shut till 2am on Thursday.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, and to expect delays.
