But it’s the use of the beach as a racetrack that people find “incredibly disruptive, aggressive, frightening”, says Siers.

Waikawa Beach also has many people who quietly and considerately drive their boat or fishing gear down to the water. But, as at Waimārama Beach, there are also a few hoons who misbehave. It'll be interesting to see what measures they come up with.
