Waikawa Beach

Waikawa Beach in the Horowhenua is a piece of paradise. With at least 59 species of birds and various other creatures it's ecologically rich.

4 ducks and 7 ducklings on lake Puna o te Ora.

We have a river, estuary, sea coast, dunes, semi-urban area (the village) and rural residential (Strathnaver) — what a winning combination!

We enjoy fresh air and dark skies, along with peace and quiet. Go down to the beach and very often you're the only one there.

This Waikawa News site also celebrates what's wonderful about Waikawa Beach, with an emphasis on environment.
